BTSQ – Attitudes and Actions

“Beyond The Status Quo” (BTSQ)

Two key words in the BTSQ initiative are ATTITUDES and ACTIONS.

We believe that people’s attitudes drive their actions.

Henry Blackaby and Claude King talk about this concept in the Experiencing God workbook (p. 110):

“When God tells you what He wants to do through you, you will face a crisis of belief.  What you do [in relation to what He tells you] shows what you believe.”

Attitude drives action.

In light of this, we are working to help people develop biblically-based attitudes about God, the Bible, self, others, and the church.  Right attitudes in these areas should lead to godly, Spirit-filled, faith-based actions.

How do we help people develop these right attitudes?

It begins by encouraging people to spend time with God – interacting with Him through His Word (reading or listening to it) and praying.

It continues by equipping and empowering them to study God’s Word and pray alone and with others.

We realize that we cannot force people to SEEK God, but we do all we can to encourage, equip and empower them to do so.
